The Truth About Halsey's Experience With Endometriosis
This story contains discussions of miscarriage.
Halsey fans are overjoyed to see the singer thrive in her new role as mother to her baby son, Ender. While the birth of a baby is always a cause for celebration, Halsey's journey to motherhood is especially inspiring to others who have the same health condition as her: endometriosis, an illness that affects the uterus.
Halsey has made no secret of her long and arduous struggle with endometriosis. The condition mostly affects the reproductive system and pelvis area and causes uterine tissue to grow outside the uterus, resulting in extreme inflammation, painful cysts, and the development of scar tissue, which can cause fertility issues.
Halsey's condition led to a miscarriage in 2015, but she never gave up on becoming a mother. In 2019, the singer spoke to Rolling Stone about undergoing a successful, life-changing surgery and making other lifestyle changes that resulted in her being able to conceive. She is now happily raising her son alongside her boyfriend, Alev Aydin.
